Santaro Japanese Restaurant - San Tai Lang

My ex-boss mentioned about this place before. Another VP from the IT department also told me about this place a couple of months back. I've always wanted to try out this place.

So armed with another japanese food lover, we marched into Santaro. There was only 2 seats left at the small counter with 2 chefs. We requested to occupy the 2 remaining seats and that was the beginning of a nice dining experience.

We were served by Desmond and Lawrence. They were very friendly and warm. Lawrence was very attentive and often checking whether we need any more food. I guess that's why he has the opportunity to be serving MM Lee tonight. Rare opportunity!

I was done after some sushi and sashimi [thanks to my cosmopolitan, hoegaarden and teriyaki chicken combi at Balaclava prior to that].

The unagi sushi and uni sushi was really excellent. Very well done. The sashimi was also very fresh. Loved the sashimi platter - sweet prawns [no fishy taste], tuna [melts in my mouth], sword fish [firm and amazing] and the clam [amazing crunch to it]. You've got to try the sashimi there. It's really THAT good!

I'd love to try out the lunch menu, so I'll definitely be back. Plus, I can't afford the S$195/person price tag for dinner since I'm heading for my holiday soon.
